Mobile Campus Visit was created by a group of developers, educators, and marketing experts with the sole intent of making education accessible to everyone through easy, instant mobile connectivity. Since then we've expanded our offering to other organizations, non-profits and companies who have smaller budgets but require a mobile component.
How did we do it? Simple. Based on our combined experiences in mobile development, higher education administration, and the entrepreneurial arts, we decided to create an incredibly simple, streamlined and straightforward web interface built on Drupal that allows users with no coding experience to create, publish and instantly update mobile apps through an RSS feed. What does all that mean? Even simpler. We create a private, password protected account for you on our site that allows you to upload images, enter text, and rearrange information with the simple click of a button. If you can send an email, you can now create a mobile app!
After you log into your account, you add tour location pages by first naming the location, entering a description of the place, uploading photos, adding an address or dropping a pin on the map. When you click save the location is instantly added to your tour! You can easily rearrange tour locations by dragging and dropping. In addition to the location pages, there are two "about" pages (that can contain text and images) that you can fill out to provide even more information or background on your institution.
The finished app will be designed with your brand's colors and contain your logos. Once you're ready to submit the app, we'll provide you with a version to test and then submit the final product for you (you can name the app whatever you'd like). When the user downloads it, updated content will appear each time they launch the app. Users can either proceed through the tour as designed, or can use their geo-location to find the locations nearest them. The app can provide directions to your institution, allow contact information to be directly downloaded into their phone, and so much more. Plus, you can add on additional functions with ease!
